In March 2005 Veja launched in Paris and Tokyo the first ecological and fair trade sneakers.The Veja Shoes are made from organic cotton, wild rubber and ecological leather. The organic cotton is produced by a cooperative of small Brazilian producers.The rubber comes from the hevea trees that grow in the wild in the Amazonian forest. Using this wild rubber helps fighting against deforestation.
The ecological leather is tanned without chromium, from vegetable extracts.Manufacturing is done in a factory that respects workers’dignity.Veja tries to change the rules of world trade with sneakers that respect both human beings and the environment.

Veja works in Brazil and maintains close relationships with small producers. From raw materials to manufacturing and storage, Veja tries to respect high levels of social standards.
