Coquelicot, the French word for poppy flower,populate the countryside of Brittany, the childhood home of Coclico's creator, Sandra Canselier.Following in the footsteps of three generations of shoemakers, she founded her unique line in 2000.Sandra's background, combined with her love for New York,naturally led her to open a boutique and showroom in Nolita.Currently, Sandra has teamed up with designer Lisa Nading to achieve a delicate harmony between style and comfort.

While focusing on providing you with a beautiful and confortable line of shoes, we're inspired by the challenge of viewing our work in a greater context.We are using more vegetable tanned leathers this season.these leathers have a beautiful, hand-finished patina from tanning agents derived from bark, fruit and seeds. and they are processed with modern techniques to keep the tanning process more clean.

Coclico is starting to look at all of the components of our product so that we can start to make earth-friendly choices.
It will be a learning process and it can't be an instantaneous
transformation but this is our path.

This is the beginning of an exploration into the increasingly important notion that we are all linked.Each of our actions have effects beyond what we've
previously understood.
